Washington Farms' Strawberry Festival will have a new attraction this year- a Strawberry Cook-Off! If you love cook, bake, and create, we would love to consider you as a contestant for our 2012 Strawberry Cook-Off! Once completed, you can mail the application along with a check made payable to Washington Farms to 5671 Hog Mountain Road, Watkinsville, GA 30677. Festival day details can be found on the application. We look forward to receiving your applications!

Adult Categories:  Pie, Cake, Other

Youth Categories:  Dessert

Rules:

  1. Washington Farms will supply all strawberries at no charge to contestant (Limit 1quart). Call 706-769-0627 for strawberries. 
  2. The entry fee is $5.00 per entry. Late entries will be $7.50. 
  3. Deadline for $5.00 entry fee is Thursday, April 5th, 2012. 
  4. Categories are limited to the first ten entries per category. 
  5. Recipes must be included with each entry form. The festival reserves the right to use the recipes and photos in promotional efforts. 
  6. Entrants must follow food safety measures. Refrigeration is the responsibility of the entrant. 
  7. Recipes must use at least one cup of strawberries. 
  8. Entries must be ON-SITE no later than 12:00 NOON, Saturday, April 28th. Late entries will be disqualified. It is the entrant’s responsibility to get their entry to the tables. 
  9. Judging will begin at 1:00 PMwith prizes awarded afterwards.
  10. Entries will be judged according to:
    TASTE: 50% APPEARANCE*: 25% PRESENTATION**: 25%
    *Appearance: How the actual dessert looks
    **Presentation: The manner in which you display what you prepare (i.e. a cake sitting on a pedestal decorated with bows)
  11. Judges will score entries from 1-10 with 10 being the highest score and 1 being the lowest score. 
  12. The highest overall score will be named the winner.
  13. A ribbon will be awarded to the most original entry.
