Join us for our first annual STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL on April 30,2011!

Hours of Operation: Strawberries are almost here!!!  Get on our email list and we'll let you know when we start picking!  Our normal hours of operation are Monday - Saturday 8am - 8pm.  It's ALWAYS a good idea to call before you come out since these hours are dependent on weather and picking conditions.

At Washington Farms we provide a unique opportunity to get delicious, juicy strawberries "as fresh as it gets", you pick-your-own. For many of our customers it is a springtime tradition with family and friends.

We also offer pre-picked berries. Please call ahead to place your order.

 PRICES:

You pick $10.00 per gallon bucket

Pre-picked $12.00 per gallon bucket

Picking bucket $1.00 if you keep it. You can bring containers to take the berries home. See info. below.

Our strawberries are grown on raised plastic beds for easy picking and clean berries.

 HOURS:

Usually 8 am  to 8 pm  Monday through Saturday.  And we are always closed on Sundays.  However, early in the season we do not have the heavy volume of berries and we may get picked out of ripe berries some days.  It is always a good idea to call before you come out to make sure we are open and have strawberries to pick.
Pick your own strawberries

We provide one gallon buckets for your picking. After picking the berries you may empty them into containers that you bring from home or you may keep the picking bucket for $1.00. You can bring that bucket back next time you pick.

Pre-picked gallons of strawberries are available most of the time; however, we prefer that you call ahead to order them so that we can pick them fresh that morning.

 


How to Care for Your Strawberries

  • Keep them cool. If you are traveling for more than 30 minutes to our farm to pick berries, be sure to keep them cool on the ride home. Consider bringing a cooler.
  • Store them in the refrigerator, preferably covered, and use in 1-2 days for best flavor.
  • Do not rinse the berries until just before you're ready to eat them or use them in a recipe. Rinsing or soaking them causes them to get soggy.
  • Leave the caps on the berries until you're ready to use them. This keeps them juicier!

We offer field trips to our strawberry farms at both locations in late April and early May.
