Celebrations are so fun and my family finds just about any reason to have a party. We don’t generally celebrate Cinco de Mayo, but on Sunday we will enjoy some yummy homemade strawberry salsa. Yes, you read that right, strawberry salsa! It is so good and it’s a great way to use some of those yummy Washington Farms strawberries. The little ones like the sweetness of the strawberries and the men at my house love the little bite from the pepper. If you haven’t tried strawberry salsa, this is the time to try it. Believe me, it won’t stick around for long, it doesn’t at my house.

Here is the recipe for this super yummy strawberry salsa:

2 cups strawberries, hulled and chopped
2 teaspoons sugar
1 jalapeno, minced
1 tablespoon yellow onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons lime juice
2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
A pinch of salt and pepper
Directions

Place chopped berries in a large bowl. Add sugar, minced jalapeno, onion and lime juice. A few minutes before serving, add the cilantro, salt and pepper. Serve with tortilla chips and ENJOY!
