PICKING CONDITIONS for Friday, May 16: Opening at 8 a.m.

LOGANVILLE:  The Loganville farm is LOADED WITH BERRIES! The picking is good and  we will open Friday  morning at 8 a.m. If you want to order pre-picks, call (770-554-8119) to order them or for information.  ****BLUEBERRY  ALERT****see  below

WATKINSVILLE:   The picking is very good here in Watkinsville.   We will open Friday morning at 8 a.m. Call 706-769-0627 for information or to order pre-picked berries. ***BLUEBERRY ALERT**** see below

CALL BEFORE YOU COME OUT: 706-769-0627 (Watkinsville #) and  770-554-8119 (Loganville #)  It is always a good idea to check our website or call before coming to the farm.  If you are wanting to schedule a field trip then click on our fieldtrip box and enter the information and we will get back to you.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!  The power company is planning on running a HUGE TRANSFORMER POWER LINE over our Watkinsville farm.  Our hayrides will go almost directly under this line.  Also, part of our blueberry and blackberry plants  will be almost directly under this power line.  We have many children on fieldtrips come to enjoy our farm as well as you. Many of these children have never picked fruits or vegetables themselves. Some have never been on a farm.  We feel that this power line will distract from the farm experience, especially the hayrides.  

HOW CAN YOU HELP? Right now while you are on the internet PLEASE e-mail Jeannine Rispin (Georgia Power) at jeannine.rispin@gatrans.com or call her at 404-375-6095.  You may also e-mail Melvin Davis (Oconee Co. Board of Commissioners) at mdavis@oconee.ga.us  Please be polite but ask them not to run the power line near Washington Farms. If you feel so inclined, please express any positive experiences you may have had at our farm. We sincerely thank you very much! 

***BLUEBERRY  ALERT***   BLUEBERRY PLANTS FOR SALE!!!   Our blueberries are almost ready to pick and the crop looks great! AND... we have decided to sell some of our blueberry bushes!  If you are interested, please email us immediately. We will sell them on a first come, first serve basis. For best results, you need to buy 2 plants of different varieties for cross-pollination to happen but you may buy only 1 plant if you want to. The bushes are in 7-gal. pots, are about 4ft. tall, and have berries on them. We are selling them for $45 per bush or 2 bushes of different varieties for $80.  Let us know soon if you want some!
