Our fall season starts in late September and runs through early November. During the season we offer pick-your-own pumpkins and flowers, as well as our many recreational activities such as ziplines, petting zoo, low ropes course, hayrides and more!

As an agritourism intern, you will have a variety of jobs throughout the season, and we will assign them to you based on your experience, personality, comfort level, etc. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, assisting the employee manager with various tasks, running a cash register, managing a food service building, helping customers, helping fellow employees, restocking product, running an activity, etc.

Qualifications: To be considered for this position, the following qualifications are preferred.

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to be in the sun for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to tolerate pollen, dust, grass and the standard farm environment.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. (Cases of bottled drinks, bags of sugar, large pumpkins, containers of ice cream, etc)
  • Must be able to drive and operate golf carts, gators, and motor vehicles of various kinds as needed.

Additional Job Information

  • Internship will last approximately 8 weeks.
  • Pay range is $10-$15 and hour based on experience and job performance.
  • Intern will work closely with and report to Bethany Washington, Office and Employee Manager at Washington Farms.

Growth & Development Opportunities
Here at Washington Farms, we love our college students and have found some incredible employees over the years who became full-time employees after graduation. Even if you are not close to graduating or looking for potential full-time work right now, many of our students end up working all four years of college with us. We love investing in the students who are invested in our family’s farm. If you are a driven, friendly, hard-working individual you will reap the benefits of quickly being promoted to different leadership roles here at the farm, as well as benefit from monetary raises.

You will get to experience firsthand the operations of an agritourism farm and learn how we operate from training, planning, flow-of-day operations, problem solving, customer service strategies and more!

COVID-19 Liability Release Waiver

Thank you for your interest in working at Washington Farms. As with the transmission of any communicable disease like a cold or the flu, you may be exposed to COVID-19 at any time or place. Be assured that we aim to follow recommendations from our local and national health and government officials to limit transmission of all illnesses on the farm, and will continue to do so. However, despite our careful attention to disinfection, social distancing, and other safety measures, there is still a chance that you could be exposed to an illness while working at Washington Farms. Although we plan to take all reasonable measures to keep our employees and customers safe, due to the nature of this job, it is impossible to avoid all risks associated with contracting COVID-19. Due to these risks, we are requiring all employees to agree to and sign the following Liability Release Waiver.

By signing this waiver you hereby acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • I acknowledge the contagious nature of the Coronavirus/COVID-19 and that the CDC and many other public health authorities still recommend practicing social distancing.

  • I further acknowledge that Washington Farms has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus/COVID-19.

  • I further acknowledge that Washington Farms cannot guarantee that I will not become infected with the Coronavirus/Covid-19. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to and/or infected by the Coronavirus/COVID-19 may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself and others, including, but not limited to, farm employees, owners, customers, and their families.

Following the announcements above I hereby declare the following:

  • I am fully and personally responsible for my own safety and actions while and during my work and all participation at Washington Farms and I recognize that I may in any case be at risk of contracting COVID-19.

  • With full knowledge of the risks involved, I hereby release, waive, discharge Washington Farms, its employees, owners, and customers from any and all liabilities, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever, directly or indirectly arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, or death, that may be sustained by me related to COVID-19 while participating in any work or activity while in, on, or around the premises or while using the facilities that may lead to unintentional exposure or harm due to COVID-19.

  • I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Washington Farms from and against any and all costs, expenses, damages, lawsuits, and/or liabilities or claims arising whether directly or indirectly from or related to any and all claims made by or against any of the released party due to injury, loss, or death from or related to COVID-19.

By signing below I acknowledge that I have read the foregoing Liability Release Waiver and understand its contents; that I am at least eighteen (18) years old and fully competent to give my consent; that I have been sufficiently informed of the risks involved and give my voluntary consent in signing it as my own free act and deed; that I give my voluntary consent in signing this Liability Release Waiver as my own free act and deed with full intention to be bound by the same, and free from any inducement or representation. If you are below eighteen (18) years old, your parent or legal guardian needs to read, agree, and sign this Liability Release Waiver.

This waiver will remain effective until laws and mandates relevant to COVID-19 are lifted.
